Comparison

Quick answer
Read on October 31, 2026, Labcorp OnDemand's Comprehensive Health Test costs $189 for 51 measured markers, $3.71 each, against $6.32 per marker for Quest's cheapest broad panel. Single tests carry the same list price at both labs, but Quest adds a physician service fee to every order, so Labcorp is cheaper or equal on most tests. Quest sells in New York and New Jersey; Labcorp OnDemand does not.

Both are the labs themselves selling direct, with a physician network writing the order: Quest's store uses PWNHealth, and Labcorp OnDemand lists PWNHealth and the Enprovider Network. Full scorecards are on our Quest review and Labcorp OnDemand review, the side-by-side data page is Labcorp OnDemand vs Quest, and every service is ranked on the best blood tests page.

Test by test: the same list price, a different bill

List price on each lab's own test page, read October 31, 2026. The Quest all-in column adds its physician service fee for a single-test order. Labcorp showed no fee on top.

Labcorp also sells ferritin on its own (see our ferritin page); the row compares the closest iron panels. Quest's fee is printed beside each price, labelled "Physician Service Fee" on its CBC page (Quest CBC), and a cart with several tests shrinks its weight per test. Labcorp was running an October promotion, "Save up to 25% off select tests" (Labcorp OnDemand); the table uses regular prices.

Panels: cost per measured marker

Panel Price Measured markers Per measured marker
Labcorp Comprehensive Health Test $189 51 $3.71
Quest Comprehensive Health Profile $335 53 $6.32
Labcorp Advanced Health Panel $399 61 $6.54
Quest Elite Health Profile $405 61 $6.64

Quest prices include our arithmetic for the physician fee. Neither lab's flagship panel includes Lp(a), and only Quest's Elite and Labcorp's Advanced include ApoB; our biomarker table shows each panel marker by marker.

Where each one sells

This is the difference that decides it for many buyers. Quest's help center says: "Lab tests at questhealth.com are currently not available in Arizona, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico." (Quest help center). It does not exclude New York or New Jersey, though some tests carry their own state limits.

Labcorp OnDemand publishes no state list that we could find. At its 2019 launch, a law firm summary reported: "The service is not currently offered in New York, New Jersey, Maryland or Rhode Island." (Rivkin Radler, 2019). That is seven years old and secondhand, so treat it as a guide and check at checkout. Labcorp's support center adds that it "does not have locations for sample collection in HI, ME, or ND" (Labcorp support). State by state: New York, Maryland, Arizona.

Cancellation, results and privacy

Quest Labcorp OnDemand

On results, Quest says "If a result requires prompt attention, PWN will attempt to contact you by phone." (Quest help center). On privacy, the two differ in wording. Quest's footer separates the lab from the store: "Other affiliates operated under the Quest® brand, such as Quest Consumer Inc., do not provide HIPAA covered services." (Quest help center). Labcorp warns about shared accounts: "all users linked to the account will have access to all OnDemand test results" (Labcorp Advanced Health Panel). Which to pick

  • Outside NY and NJ, buying a few tests: Labcorp OnDemand, for the same list prices without a per-order fee.
  • Vitamin D or an iron panel: Quest is cheaper even after its fee.
  • New York or New Jersey: Quest, since Labcorp OnDemand does not sell there.
  • Several tests at the lowest total: a discount store may beat both; see blood test cost without insurance and the Ulta Lab Tests review.

Questions

FAQ

Is Quest or Labcorp OnDemand cheaper?

Labcorp OnDemand is cheaper or equal on most single tests, because both list the same price and Quest adds a physician service fee per order. Quest wins on vitamin D and its iron, TIBC and ferritin panel. For panels, Labcorp's Comprehensive Health Test costs less per measured marker than Quest's cheapest broad profile.

Does Quest charge a physician fee?

Yes. Every test page shows a physician service fee beside the price, which pays for the PWNHealth order. Labcorp OnDemand showed no separate fee on the pages we read on October 31, 2026; its refund policy says a fee covers the provider order if you cancel.

Can I use Quest or Labcorp OnDemand in New York?

Quest's store lists Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico as unavailable and does not exclude New York. Labcorp OnDemand publishes no state list; reports since its launch say it does not sell in New York, New Jersey, Maryland or Rhode Island. Check at checkout before you pay.

Can I cancel a Quest or Labcorp test order?

Both refund before the sample is taken, less a fee: Quest keeps a non-refundable fee for in-person tests, and Labcorp refunds within one year less a fee. Neither refunds once you have given a sample.

Are results the same at Quest and Labcorp?

Both are large CLIA-certified labs, but methods and reference ranges can differ between labs. If you track a marker over time, staying with one lab keeps results easier to compare. What a result means for you is a question for your clinician.

Do Quest and Labcorp OnDemand take HSA or FSA cards?

Yes. Quest's test pages say HSA/FSA accepted, and Labcorp's test pages list HSA/FSA as accepted. Neither bills insurance for these self-pay orders. Our [HSA and FSA guide](/guides/hsa-fsa-blood-tests) covers every service.
